JB Varieties:

Sunny Seed Blend: It has been formulated specifically for the Pacific Northwest for sunny areas with 5 or more hours of direct sunlight. Most seed distributors formulate mixes for a large geographic area and these blends don’t necessarily do well in our cool damp winters.

The JB Premium Lawn Seed is 100% perennial ryegrass blend is also available in sod and hydroseeding. As perennial ryegrass sod and hydroseed lawns have been used here primarily the customer will always know that they can match the blend for overseeding or adding to an existing lawn. No worries about a different shade of green or thickness of blade. It will all be a fine textured turf grass with a rich green year round color.

Sun & Shade Seed Blend: It has been formulated specifically for the Pacific Northwest for shady areas with 3 or more hours of direct sunlight. Most seed distributors formulate mixes for a large geographic area and these blends don’t necessarily do well in our cool damp winters.

The JB Select Premium Sun & Shade Lawn Seed is approximately 1/3 Perennial Ryegrass and 2/3 Chewings/Red Fescue. Chewings Fescues have been known for their fine leaf texture and to be among the most shade and drought tolerant of the cool season grasses. Its very dark green color allows mixing with today’s generation of dark green perennial ryegrasses. Red Fescue is widely planted for turf grass in the transition and Northern cool season areas. It is a fine bladed grass with medium to dark green color and its major use is for dry shaded areas in mixes, such as Perennial Ryegrass.

Our Sun & Shade Mix blends well with any 100% Perennial Ryegrass lawn making it a good choice for overseeding in shady areas.

Natural Knit® Seed: The three-way blend of spreading ryegrasses holds the sod together for harvesting through its patented ability to develop "pseudo-stolons" that tightly intertwine removing the need for netting. Because of this characteristic it also has self-repairing capabilities as well as the ability to prevent poa annua (annual bluegrass) from establishing.
